August Painting 2014

I enjoyed an extended tour of Europe this past summer.  Of the many places visited, Venice and Switzerland promise to have the greatest effect on my art.  I can envision a large piece displaying the views from Mt Pilatus in Switzerland.  I am also contemplating a large painting to explore the intricate patterns and structures in Venice.  In spite of the wealth of inspiration from Europe, my drive to paint the coast and forests in NE America is as strong as ever.  I recently completed a large (36x72) surf study entitled “rejuvenation”, as well as two smaller pieces.  These will be exhibited at an exhibition in Mystic Ct. this coming weekend.
